Sister visit!

Friday, January 6, 2012

Oh yeah and my dad too.

My two little sisters and dad came up the Wednesday after Christmas for a quick visit.  I let Caleb stay up until after 8:30 so he could see them on Wednesday. He was so excited to have Paka come and visit!

Thursday afternoon I took them around to see two of the five falls here in town.

The wind was doing nothing for our hair, and I had the purple North Face jacket first for the record.

Stephy wanted to remember the beauty of the plains and took this picture.

At the real great falls.

My dad was making jokes and Dana couldn't stop laughing, hence this face.

Caleb loves Paka!

Ok this next part is like the craziest thing you will ever hear, I still totally can't get over it. My dad told me he wanted to go to Cafe Rio for dinner. This man knows the owners of Cafe Rio (well they have sold, but the original owners) he could literally walk to 50 different Cafe Rio's but he has never been to one outside of Utah and really wanted to go. So we went. *Steph remember that picture of you and John holding hands after Splash Mountain, now you are sitting next to him and snuggling next to my son, it is just kind of weird have to throw that out there.

The verdict, just like Utah.

Afterwards we went to get ice cream. We had told Caleb if he stopped saying the word "stupid" he could have a special treat. He picked getting ice cream with paka. We enjoyed our ice cream later while watching "Portlandia"

Friday the boys watched the BYU football bowl game while we girls went to the gym. My dad made his wonderful guacamole and my sissy Stephanie made the most amazing homemade salsa ever! So we ate way too much during the game, only to later stuff our face with John's BBQ ribs that night.
Stephanie took all the following pictures. She helped me make biscuits.

Some darn good ribs.

Yummy!

My dad has a big birthday coming up so this was his birthday celebration since Caleb and I won't be in Utah for the real thing. He was very excited for the food!

The funniest part of the visit, I thought, is that Caleb is learning he can edit prayers, he doesn't have to say what we say. So I said "bless Paka and aunties that they will drive safely tomorrow" and he said "bless Paka that he won't drive home tomorrow." Caleb was so sad they left and keeps asking when they will come back. He also very politely asked if he could borrow one of Paka's trains, then when we found another one he said "it's ok Paka doesn't use them" good point son.

We had fun hanging out and just relaxing. We did watch the entire first season of Portlandia on Netflix (there are only 6 episodes). That show is so dang funny. I got them all hooked (though watch with the remote, at least one skit an episode is worth fast forwarding). It was just fun having visitors, no one from my family has been up since last November. Thanks for coming ya'll
