Shell art and 2011 are both over!
Not that it is a competition or anything, but if it were I am pretty sure I would win best New Year's Eve ever!

(that is a text message from Caleb to his aunties it says "I have a crane, I love my aunties)

(this one says "aunties, I love my aunties. They are so big and heavy and strong like Paka. And they are strong and useful and big with Paka). On a side note my sisters are some of the thinnest girls I know. I really don't know why Caleb was so into them being big and strong. He makes me laugh
The day started with John going on alert. Then my family all left. Then our power went out for two hours. We were on our way to the gym when it went out so Caleb insisted that we still go. I was hoping they would turn their generator on, but the didn't and we spent and hour or two in the parking lot doing "hidden pictures."
Honestly though the day was great (besides my family leaving me alone-that's right Steph feel that guilt :). It was really chill, spent in our team uniforms. How can I complain when I had this face to hang out with all day?
Caleb went to bed at his usual 7 p.m. and I watched the "Friends" episode with the "routine" and fell asleep at 9:30 only to be awoken by my father who told me they had finally made it home. Then I talked with Stephy and called it a night. I was asleep shortly after 10. It was wonderful. I literally could not have asked for a better new years.
We did set New Years resolutions based off of President Monson's "ABCs" so we each made a goal for attitude, believe and courage. Caleb is old enough now to start making goals and we have really tried to let him feel he has control over things we aren't just going to tell him what to do. He is very very into good choice/bad choice and often informs me when I might be making a bad choice. He made these all by himself:
A-say the word "good more and bad less"
B-listen in primary
C-tell himself "mommy will come back" when I leave (I might have influenced him a little on that one).
2011was an amazing year, and I have a feeling 2012 is going to be pretty darn good too.
