We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. I am not sure it is possible to have a bad holiday that centers around food :)
John was home from work before the turkey even went in the oven which was great to have him home almost a whole holiday!
We kind of went crazy organic this year with everything-including the turkey. It was the first time I actually enjoyed a turkey.
After dinner Caleb was introduced to video games. He didn't really play but he liked watching.
Fun family pictures!
We were so happy my mom was able to come up for a couple of days and celebrate with us!
Instead of our usual daily thankful item this year we followed this advice
I would recommend this same exercise to you—namely, that you take an inventory of your life and look specifically for the blessings, large and small, you have received.
It made this year so wonderful to sit and think of ALL our blessing. One interesting thing we noticed was that we often place stipulations on our blessings, like "we are grateful for your job but really wish you were home more." This year as we made the list we weren't allowed to do that and just focused on how we have had a very unique life that has allowed us opportunities in different ways than we would have planned. I think it helped both of us to have a great attitude of gratitude this season and to really see how much Heavenly Father has blessed us.
